The Book Diva Goes Camping!

Hello to all my Ney friends! I hope you all are having a great summer! I have had a busy one so far! My family bought a camper recently and we went camping last weekend! Can you imagine the Book Diva camping? Well, I did it! It was a lot of fun, too! We camped at Splashway park and even spent the day at the waterpark on Saturday! It was a blast. You know, I don't mind camping (if I have an air conditioner and a potty to use :)). Tell me what you have been doing! I look forward to hearing from you soon!

RIF-The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

I stumbled upon this book about four or five years ago. It is an amazing story and I look forward to talking to you about it here!

RIF- Because of Winn-Dixie

I can't wait to talk to you about Because of Winn-Dixie. This is a special book. I hope you will tell me what you think about it here.

RIF- Marvin Redpost

Hey there! I want to know who is reading Marvin Redpost Why Pick On Me. Use this spot to discuss the book with me. I can't wait to find out what you think of the book! It has been one of my favorites ever since I taught first grade. Let's talk about it!

Summertime Is Coming!!

I can't tell you how excited I am for summer to get here! I have a lot of plans this year! One of the best plans I have, though is to read, read, read! I plan on starting by reading all of the Bluebonnet books for the upcoming year. We don't plan on going on vacation, so I guess I will sit by the lake and read. When it gets too hot, I'll take a swim or a boat ride. What are your plans for the summer??

Welcome Back!

To all my Ney kids and parents, welcome back to school! I had a slow start this year. This week is actually my first full week for library. The students at Ney are coming to me regularly starting this week. I am excited that first grade through fourth will begin checking out books this week, too. Kindergarten will wait until later this fall. Please remember to email me or post on this blog if you have any questions or would like book suggestions. I look forward to visiting with you!

Reflection Island

1. What were your favorite discoveries or excursions on this learning journey? I would have to say that I have two favorites: Skype Island and Excursion Island. I really liked learning more about Skype so that I can start seriously considering using it in the library. I already knew a little about it, but I have not actually ever used it. This class sort of "forced me" to stop, research it, and consider how I might use it in the library. On Excursion Island I absolutely loved that you posted the sites that are all neatly organized and list so MANY of the web 2.0 tools that we could possibly be using. Last year we learned about some of them, but I don't really remember you posting sites that links to so many and organized so that we can find what we might be interested in. 2. How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals? As I get older I have learned that technology is growing and changing faster than we can keep up with it. If we are not in the g...
