You made it through the toughest part of the book! I am sure we can all agree chapters one and two were not the most stimulating or entertaining! However, chapter three seems to be where we start learning the "meat" of this Guided Reading program. As I was reading chapters one and two, I kept a few notes in my journal. I was resisting the overwhelming urge to highlight in this book. It is, after all, a library book. I will be honest though, by chapter three I couldn't resist any longer. I HAD to highlight a few things that stood out to me. If you feel the same as you are reading, highlight to your heart's content. We will beg forgiveness later. Chapter One: While I was reading the first two chapters, nothing startling came to mind. However, I did find myself wondering about YOUR classrooms. I rarely get to come into your room while you are teaching, so I am generally unaware of your routines and how much of the Guided Reading program you already use. I would like...
I really liked the book Mrs.Book Diva. The book was very cool! My favorite part was when Marvin stood up for himself against Clarence, the toughest kid in third grade. The survey was a clever idea.

Oh my goodness!! You've already read the book? You sure are fast!! I'm so glad you liked it!
DeleteDon't you wish all kids who are bullied would have the courage that Marvin did in the end? I do!
My favorite part was when he reported that the teacher AND the principal both pick their noses!! That's hard to imagine!
Have a great summer Emma! I will miss your sweet personality! Stay in touch and I will see you in August!
Hello Mrs. Book Diva,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading Marvin Redpost! My favorite part was when Lizzy helped Marvin come up with his survey question. I think that was pretty awesome! It also made me sad that everyone made fun of Marvin. I wished I could have been there to be his friend! I can not wait to read the next book!
Hi Samantha! I am so glad you liked the book. I can't believe you are already finished with it! I loved the fact that Lizzy helped Marvin think of the survery question, too! Sometimes the youngest kids can be so smart! Do you think that you would be brave enough to go around asking everyone that question>.? I can't even imagine asking Mrs. Randazzo! That would be so funny, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful summer! Keep in touch with me here or on my website! I would love to know what you have been up to! If you liked these Marvin Redpost books, then you would probably also like the Ready Freddy series, too. Tryo one of those and tell me what you think! See you in August!
